The purpose of the Nurture Committee is to build up the body of Christ by caring for members in such a way as to help them grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ, grow in fellowship in our church family and to offer care, concern, prayer and support to the membership of JUMC when troubles and hardships arise.
New Member Sponsors - Sponsors help to integrate new members into JUMC fellowship by making frequent contact, inviting them to church functions/activities and praying for them. Many of our current sponsors need a break and as we grow new sponsors are needed.
Parish Care - This team ministers to members who are shut in or live in a nursing home. Each volunteer has assigned "Parishioners" to visit at least once a month and to call or send cards on a regular basis. New members to the team are needed.
Church Library - We need people who are interested in promoting and maintaining the church library. Much of our inventory is old and we need to update so that it will be a useful resource for our members. We are very open to any ideas and help.
"Open" areas - Looking for persons to do follow up on members who miss a number of Sundays, do telephoning for various things, assist with the new member picture board and dinner, deliver sermon tapes each Sunday and coordinator of a "Senior" program. We always need new active members of the Nurture Committee. Come to help us build up the body of Christ!
