God is doing some great things at JUMC and we are excited to know that you feel that God may be leading you to join our church family. We believe that membership in a church family is an extremely important part of a balanced and healthy Christian life.

By Profession of Faith and Baptism
If you have never joined a church before, we will receive you by profession of faith. If you have not been baptized, we will be happy to baptize you. We will ask you if you repent of your sin, receive Jesus Christ as your Savior and intend to lead a Christian life.

By Transfer from Another United Methodist Church
We recognize your baptism and profession of faith from your previous denomination or Methodist church. We believe that your coming to unite with Jasper is a statement of renewal of your faith in Jesus Christ.

By Transfer from Another Christian Denomination
This process is very much like the one above. Since you have already been baptized and confirmed, these steps will not be repeated. You will be asked to take the one vow taken by all members of the United Methodist Church: Will you be loyal to the United Methodist Church and uphold it with your prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness?
