Music and the Arts
"O sing unto the Lord a new song; for He hath done marvelous things; His right hand, and His holy arm, hath gotten Him the victory."
(Psalm 98)
"I will praise you, O LORD, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples."
(Psalm 108:2-4)
Music is one of the most common forms of worship named in the Bible. We have a wide variety of options for adults and youth who like to sing or play an instrument. Our goal is to praise the Lord and inspire our congregation with an exciting and challenging repertoire of music.
Everyone is invited to join one of our many music ministries as we kick off a new year together. Please note the schedule on the main calendar and jump on board. Small groups are so important in a growing medium to large church. I would also like to encourage everyone to wear his/her name tags (call the church office if you need to order a new one) so we can put a name with a face as we continue to grow in this great church. A couple of members of our Chancel Choir have suggested we wear our church name tags at Lake Junaluska this year at our annual Choir Retreat the 1st weekend in August. What a great idea! What a great way for others to know that we represent our church and Lord outside of these walls!
All rehersals begin Wednesday and Sunday after Labor Day. All new and returning members are urged to come and join our great Music/Worship Ministries at JUMC. Below is a list of Music Ministry Rehersal times:
